Project Location: Gilan Province – Talsh County (Hashtpar)
Project Specifications and Overall Objective:
The objective of this project is to restore the only communication route in Talsh County, in the northwest of Gilan Province, by constructing a five-span bridge in three lanes with a width of 8 meters, adjacent to the east side of the existing bridge. The project aims to build a grade-separated intersection for the main Talsh city bridge over the Karganrud River, with a length of 100 meters. The flood in 1398 (2019) had caused the complete destruction of the existing bridge’s return lane, so a new bridge was designed and constructed with special precautions and considered a high-priority structure. The project was executed on a 3,000-square-meter plot with five intermediate piers built on the Karganrud River bed, with a span length of over 100 meters adjacent to the existing bridge. It also involved constructing a cut-off in the river bed to prevent scouring of the existing bridge foundations, using in-situ casing. The newly constructed bridge includes the following components:
– Construction of a five-span concrete bridge with a width of approximately 8 meters, a length of 100 meters, and a deck area of 800 square meters
– Pile installation operations for the project, including 32 in-situ piles with a diameter of 120 centimeters and a height of 28 meters from the ground level
– Concrete pouring volume for the project: 3,000 cubic meters of concrete
– Formwork volume for the project: 2,200 square meters, along with slab edge formwork
– Rebar used in the project: 560,000 kilograms
– Soil operations volume for the project, including excavation and backfilling: 9,000 cubic meters
